SIMS concludes 3-day Football Championship

Salmiya Indian Model School (SIMS) organized a three-day Football Championship on 3 February with the participation of 71 teams representing various schools and clubs. The aim of the tournament was to recognize and develop promising young talents in the field of sport. It was conducted for 4 boy’s categories and 2 girl’s categories.

These brilliant students exhibited qualities that will not only help them achieve their goals but also bring them the glory of success. All teams impressed the spectators with their sportsmanship by shaking hands with the players of the opposing team.

The game kicked off in good fashion. Goal after goal enthralled the spectators, sending all football lovers into a frenzy. The spectators got the opportunity to watch a few good games of football.

Awards are a way to encourage good behavior and inculcate a competitive spirit. At the end of the tournament, awards were given away for the three top Individual Teams, Best Promising Player, Best Player, etc.... The awards were not just for recognizing those students who had performed exceptionally well, but also to honour those students who had played the game keeping in mind the spirit of the game.

The start of the tournament was witnessed by SIMS PRO Ahmed Ibrahim Dashti, Director Dr. Anis Ahmed, Principal –  Elizabeth Joseph, Vice Principal – Anita Sadanand and Senior Coordinator –  Mirza Jawad Alam Baig .                    

The best 3 teams were declared winners in each of the six categories. Those present for the ceremony included sponsors Lukman Alavi and Vipin Gangadaran from Malabar Gold.
