SIMS celebrates Children’s Day
November 19, 2017, 2:34 pm

Children’s day was celebrated at Salmiya Indian Model School (SIMS) with great enthusiasm on 14 November. The teachers and students remembered Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister, and celebrated the love that he had for all children with a host of fun-filled activities and delicious snacks.

The teachers prepared an hour long program for the kids with a variety of items and ensured that it had every kind of entertainment possible. The students of Class 1 to 4 arrived at school in colourful clothes and were excited to watch the special assembly conducted by their teachers.

The students of Class 1 and 2 enjoyed the day by watching their teachers performing various cultural events on the stage. Every teacher brought her expertise and talent to this show. To begin with, the teachers enacted a fairy tale drama followed by a beautiful song and danced to the latest numbers whereas the students of Class 3 and 4 were thrilled to watch their teachers performed on the evergreen song ‘Lakdi ki kathi’, which later ended with a glamorous fashion show. There were competitions like drawing and colouring along with other indoor games conducted by the teachers that had the children engaged for the whole day. The students were overwhelmed with the entire effort and enjoyed their day to the fullest.
