SIF-Kuwait to hold IGNITE Science Writing Contest 2016

Science International Forum will be holding the second edition of IGNITE Science Writing Contest which was introduced in 2015 as a tribute to late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The contest offers complete freedom to the contestants, to travel through their imagination exploring the possibilities of Science and is open to all, in Sub Junior/Junior/ Senior and Adult category.

The IGNITE theme for this year is ‘Transformation using technology.’

In 2025, after obtaining a PHD from IISc, you landed up in a remote Indian village as part of your professional assignment.

Write down a story/memoir/ write up of not more than 1200 words on how you ended up transforming the lives of villagers using science and technology and email your writing in a word format with your details to

Name, Email IDs, school, class, age and contact number in case of students.

Name, Email IDs, professional details, age and contact number in case of adults.

The background the writing should be real and researched. Fictional work will not be accepted. The writing should be in MS word format and emailed to the given address. Decorative images will not be accepted, although any real photographs of visited villages will be an exception.


Sub Junior - Class 5, 6, 7
Junior- Class 8, 9, 10
Senior- Class 11, 12
Adults- Age18 and above

Last date for submission is 1 September.

Winners in each category will receive prizes and certificates signed by India's leading Scientists and technocrats.
