SIF-Kuwait successfully conducted third Kuwait Children’s Science Congress

The third Kuwait Children’s Science Congress (KCSC), organized by Science International Forum (SIF) Kuwait was successfully conducted on 17 November. The judging panel along with Sri. Prasanth Nair (President, SIF Kuwait) inaugurated the event by lighting traditional lamp.

Winners of the science writing completion IGNITE 2017 held by SIF Kuwait were honoured at the function. The judging panel included senior scientists from Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research Dr. S Neelamani, Dr. Mohan Rana, Dr. K Ravindranath, Dr. S. Krishnakumar, Dr. Jayasree, Dr. Sreekanth K. J. and Dr. S Chidambaram. Around 130 young scientists from all the major Indian schools in Kuwait participated in two categories.

Five member students team showcased their inventive and unique scientific projects to the large crowd of parents, teachers and well-wishers. In the senior category, the two teams from Indian English Academy School (DONBOSCO) and in the junior category the two teams from Indian Community School Senior Branch and Smart Indian School (Bhavan’s) were qualified to participate in this year's National Children’s Science Congress. In the junior category, 4 teams from Indian Educational School (Bhavan’s), Gulf Indian School and ICSK (Junior) and 4 teams from Indian Learners Own Academy, ICSK (Senior) and Gulf Indian School were honored with A Grade.

Kuwait Indian School (Best Stall), ICSK, Kaithan (Best Presentation), ICSK Amman (Innovative Concept - Junior), Indian Central School (Innovative Concept - Senior) were the other category winners of the day. The general feedback from the Judges was positive. Qualified teams would represent Kuwait in the 25th National Children’s Science Congress 2017 scheduled to be held from 27 to 31 December at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. KCSC is organized along with the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India to spread the concept and method of science among children by adopting the principle of learning through doing.
