Rhythm Dance Group presents Kathak – Flamenco Show

Rhythm Dance Group offers the opportunity to enjoy a breath-taking unique presentation of mesmerizing Indian Classical Dance (Kathak) and enchanting Spanish Flamenco for the first time in Kuwait.  The event is scheduled for 30 May, 2015 at the Indian Embassy Auditorium from 6: 30pm.

Mrs. Rina Deb, Director of Rhythm Dance Group, who is herself an Indian Classical Dancer, feels that this show may be a pioneering milestone in the path of exchange of culture and heritage between different nations of multicultural diversities.  The following is a brief background on the show’s stars who excel in their chosen dance forms.

Nandini Sinha, the Kathak Dancer, had the privilege of being exposed to a wide range of Indian classical dance forms and of participating in the choreographic productions of leading dance gurus, Pt. Birju Maharaj, Pt. Vijai Shankar, Smt Kumudini Lakhia and others.

As a solo artist, Nandini has been regularly presenting programs at major dance platforms and festivals in India and abroad.  She has also choreographed a number of ballets and group shows which have been highly acclaimed, and is a recipient of the Senior National Scholarship and a fellowship from the Department of Culture, Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Amalia Megias Lopez, the internationally reputed flamenco dancer, nurtures a strong passion for Flamenco Dance and has shared with audiences worldwide. She is famous in Bailarina de flamenco en el Gofo Persico and has her own dance academy named Flamenco Dance Company, which has is well-known in the middle-east and around the world.

Mariana Collado, the emblem of power and grace of Flamenco, is associated with the esteemed organization Casapatas.  She has studied at the Mario Maya Center for the performing arts in Spain, where she took courses with such maestros as Mario Maya, Rafela, Carrasco and Belen Maya. She subsequently joined Mario Maya Flamenco Company, and participated in the Jerez Flamenco Festival and performed at different places in Spain. Also, her performances in many shows around the world have led to spectators acknowledging her excellence, and her talent for mesmerizing with her grace, skill and energy.
