Reception marks Algerian War of Independence

To commemorate the Algerian War of Independence (1954–62), the Algerian Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Abdulhamid Abdawi hosted a reception at Salwa Hall. The Algerian War, also called Algerian War of Independence, was a people’s revolution against colonialism and the French occupation of Algeria, organized with the aim of giving Algeria independence from France.

The Minister of Electricity and Water Ahmad Al-Jassar attended the gathering, which comprised of members of the diplomatic corps, dignitaries and media. In an address to the gathering, Minister Al-Jassar expressed his congratulations to the Algerians and stressed that the relations between Algeria and Kuwait are strong and cordial in all areas. Algerian Ambassador Abdawi stated that Kuwait occupies a remarkable place in the hearts of the people of Algeria for their continued support in various arenas. He reiterated, “We will continue working together to face challenges”.
