Rambert Dance Company are a professional touring dance company from London and have been established for many years. The company dancers are extensively trained to the highest level and all have had professional dance training to achieve their place in the company. Since Rambert gained their new home on the Southbank in London they have expanded their dance education programme.

They will be holding a workshop for ages 9yrs+ with some dance experience. The workshops will run from 1-3 December. Students are expected to attend all 3 days as this helps towards to collaborative choreographic process for the performance. The fee is KD 25 for BAIA Student  and KD35 for Non BAIA Students. The last day to book a seat is Wednesday, 30 November.

The workshop is contemporary dance based and will focus on taking a warm up at the beginning of each day, followed by creative tasks and taught dance material which culminate in a dance performance on the last day for friends and parents to attend. This is a fantastic opportunity for different ages and abilities to come together and have a fun dance workshop that everyone will enjoy.

The Education team along with the company dancers train freelance dance artists to become their animateures to go out into public, private and vocational schools in the UK and Abroad. The animateures deliver the dance workshops based on the latest Rambert repetoire and or previous works dependent on the requests. BAIA is so excited to be able to offer the Rambert workshop and to welcome the freelance practitioner who will come all the way from London to Kuwait to run an open workshop for 3 days is such an exciting privilege.

Back in February this year Ms Alley took a group of dance students to London for a dance trip where the students got to see live dance performances in Ballet and Musical Theatre. Not only were the students lucky enough to watch live dance they also took part in dance workshops at Pineapple dance studios in jazz, and musical theatre for Stomp and the Lion King. The students also took part in a contemporary dance workshop with a Rambert practitioner and this was how the relationship began as the student enjoyed the workshop so much we invited the same teacher to come and work with more of BAIA’s students.
