Putting an end to body image issues
April 5, 2015, 2:46 pm

Do you stand in front of the mirror everyday wishing that you could change a particular part of your body? Some want a smaller nose, someone a thinner waist or someone would just like some height.

Women are so bogged down by body image issues that all they want to do is change themselves. Every woman out there should have the courage to be proud of who she is, just the way she is, including the imperfections. There is not one woman who is perfect in her skin and has an amazing attitude towards body image.

Women fight body image issues all the time. That is why, the fairness creams sell like hot cakes and plastic surgery is one of the most booming industries.

Actress Jennifer Lawrence in an interview with Barbara Walters once said, "I think when it comes to the media, the media needs to take responsibility for the effect that it has on our younger generation, on these girls that are watching these television shows and picking up how to talk and how to be cool."

Every woman should learn that being healthy and fit is more important than having a perfect figure or features. Every mother out there needs to start counseling their daughters from a very young age and tell them they are pretty no matter what; perhaps then, women of tomorrow will be a little more confident about themselves.
