Director General of the Public Relations and Security Media Department in the Interior Ministry Colonel Adel Ahmad Al-Hashash said the Public Security Sector will receive the first batch of new patrol cars today.
In a press statement, Al-Hashash said the first batch will consist of 240 patrol cars whereas the second batch, which is due ton 27 June, comprises of 243 patrol cars.
Al-Hashash explained that the decision to change the colors for the mechanism and patrol cars of the ministry came after a detailed study conducted by experts. This led to the approval of different makes and colors for the public to differentiate between sectors of the ministry.
He affirmed the department conducts media campaigns every time the ministry introduces a new mechanism or make certain changes to inform the citizens and expatriates on the latest developments.
He said the department will hand over the new Patrol cars to different sectors and an announcement will be made before these cars are put to actual use.
