Prominent Indian oncologist honoured in Kuwait's National & Liberation Days celebrations

Kuwait’s National & Liberation Days was cheered by the Indian community a great celebration as the gathering included the prominent figures and special invitees in the series of events by NSH, the single largest employer in the Middle East. In honour of Kuwait’s National & Liberation Days, NSH organised the cancer awareness event, conducted by the well-known Indian oncologist Dr. V.P. Gangadharan.

The event was inaugurated by the Vice President Sabu who said that the aim for this event is to help spread awareness of the causes and prevention of cancer. He read out the achievements of Dr V.P. Gangadharan; followed by the introduction by HR Manager Pani J Anthony and felicitation by GM Harikumar.

In his inaugural address, NSH Vice President Sabu informed the large gathering the reason for arranging such a mega event during the National and Liberation Days celebrations of Kuwait. He happily added that Kuwait is a great country to live in, and that created a good platform for a peaceful working environment. “We feel it a great honour and privilege to work in a country that is ruled by a leader of humanity, HH Amir”, he said.

Dr. VP Gangadharan described the importance of timely self-examination and reviewed the facts about the cancer and its genetic roots. He encouraged women above the age of 40 to go for regular breast cancer checkup system. His speech included an elaborate dialogue on its causes, symptoms, treatment options, self-examination and preventive measures. The audience expressed their happiness about how informative the seminar was and how it encouraged them to pass on this valuable information to their peers and family members. The question and answer session at the end of the seminar cleared certain myths the audience held about cancer and addressed several queries.

This joyful festival with fun and feast, witnessed the cultural events by the community members and kids, created more fervor and gaiety. Feathers were added in NSH’s cap by the presence of top official from JGC like Mr. Hanada who appreciated NSH for its service towards creating a healthy society and to shape the future of the community by promoting health and development. Sabu honoured Dr. V.P. Gangadharan with the 1st NSH Global Harmony Award - 2017 for his excellent medical service, combining high professional skill, with compassion and personal bondage, saving many precious lives and alleviating pain and suffering.

NSH took a different path in this celebration by maintaining its special interest of social responsibility. Earlier, the guest of honor parade was given Meghana and team.

PV Santhosh, Abdul Rahman, Dileep Kumar, VG Nair, Michael O Baili, Dr. Camama, Santhosh Babu, Ullas, Manoj, Prakash, Harish, KR Mohan, Padmakumar, Shiju, Jayan were among those present.
