Patriotic fervor as Kuwait glows for National and Liberation Days
February 21, 2015, 3:56 pm

On the occasion of the National and Liberation Days, public and private offices as well as shops and residences in the country are festooned with Kuwaiti flags and decked with lights in the national flag colors. A quick drive around Kuwait City and its suburbs reveal the patriotic fervor pervading the country with streets, buildings and even wayside trees and shrubs decorated with colorful lights and flags.

The ‘City of Lights’ in Mishref, near the International Fair Ground, is a must-see as the park is spectacularly illuminated in intricate designs that depict Kuwait’s vibrant culture and history, including among others well-lit models of traditional musical instruments, lanterns, gateways, dhows and the Kuwait Towers.

The ‘City of Lights’ is a great project that reflects local creativity and innovation of Kuwaitis, and it proves that they are able to come up with tremendous ideas and projects,” said Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Homoud Al-Sabah on the day of inauguration of the City of Lights.
