National Assembly Secretary General Allam Al-Kandari refuted rumors on social media on vote rigging by either having missing ballot boxes or misrecording of votes.

Al-Kandari told the press, Friday, that the parliament's secretariat had received and kept all ballot boxes, without having any of them missing.

The boxes can be neither opened nor transported by anyone outside the judicial authority, he added, noting that the parliament secretariat's duty is to receive and keep these boxes in their original state as they arrive from ballot polls, i.e. sealed with wax.

He advised the public to be accurate in receiving and sending information and encouraged them to contact the parliament's secretariat for any inquiries.
