Parliament approves amendments to sports law
The National Assembly on Wednesday assented, in first and second readings, a draft bill amending law 42/1978 on sports institutions. Today's session also consented to a parliamentary request to send back an amendment to Article 3 of the Sports Law 5/2007, to the Assembly's Youth and Sports Committee for more discussions and a supplementary report.
Meanwhile, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah stressed at today's session the political leadership's prior attention to youth. Sheikh Salman referred to the document concluded by National Youth Convention "Kuwait Listens," on providing further care, and empowerment to Kuwait's youth.
He said the government has referred to the National Assembly two draft bills for separating the youth and sports sectors form each other, which, he said, implies how the cabinet, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, is keen on offering more care to the young. The Ministry of State for Youth Affairs is hard at work implementing the ambitious national plan for promoting youth care. The plan focuses on providing sports clubs with technical and administrative incentives to play due role as "youth incubators".
