The Lebanese NGO Inaash, recently held an exhibition titled, ‘The Art of Palestinian Embroidery: Past, Present and Future,’ at the Al Sadu House, from 25 to 27 January. The three day event was a part of the activities of the 22nd Qurain Cultural Festival, which is Kuwait’s leading arts festival sponsored by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters.

Mia Shaheed, deputy president of the ‘Reviving the Palestinian Camp’ during the exhibition expressed her happiness on visiting Kuwait for the first time and dealing with the Kuwaiti society during the exhibition. “The main aim of this association is to help preserve and revive the Palestinian heritage. All the proceeds of the event will go to the association which in turn helps support hundreds of Palestinian women.”

The exhibition featured a number of items by contributors to the Inaash range, which included jewellery, household goods, high-end color graded cushions, shawls, bags and handmade dresses. The ‘Kmanjati’ band provided good music as a form of entertainment to the audience.
