PSA organizes Pakistan National Day Badminton Championship

Pakistan Sports Association (PSA) Kuwait in collaboration with JB Badminton Club organized Pakistan National Day Badminton Championship on 23 and 24 March at Badminton court. More than 50 badminton players from different communities participated in intermediate and professional categories during the Pakistan National Day event. Abdul Jabbar Farooqi and Paratab won the Professional Level and S.Kumar and Rathinga Kumar clinched the Intermediate Level trophies whereas runner up was Mr. Masood and Dr. Mahe and Eeshan Upadhyaya and Pratik Balaia Singh in Professional and Intermediate categories respectively.

The prize distribution ceremony was held at the end of the tournament. President of Pakistan Sports Association Kuwait Maqbool Ahmed, PSA Founder/Director General Muhammad Irfan Adil, Vice President Muhammad Younas Shahid, Executive Members Imran Khan, Adil Malik, Shahbaz Ali, Wasim Bajwa, Nadeem Malik, Abdul Jabbar Farooqi, Khalil Ahmed along with G Murtaza, Kumar, Syed Azfar and Usman were among the Guests. Winners and runner up players received the trophies of their respective category from honorable guests.

Maqbool Ahmed, President PSA, said that Pakistan Sports Association Kuwait (PSA) engages the youth and community in positive and healthy sports activities. It is an avenue for camaraderie and to develop a sense of belonging among individuals in the shared pursuit of sport and to provide an outlet for advanced participation and competition in a particular sport. PSA is a non-political, non-partisan and non-governmental organization, founded by Muhammad Irfan Adil on 14 August.

Headed by Maqbool Ahmed and powered by sports lovers,PSA is organizing sports events and festivals among the community with the collaboration of local sports authorities and will work together with local organizations and charities to enhance the standing and awareness of the benefits of sport and exercise. We will keep organizing such sports and healthy activities among youth and community.

At the end, PSA Founder/Director General Muhammad Irfan Adil thanked all the guests for witnessing the thrilling game of Badminton and appreciated JB Badminton Club for their cooperation and support in organizing Pakistan National Day Badminton Championship.

He conveyed a special thanks to Sarwar Butt from Qamar Al Awal Company for supporting the event. He appreciated all PSA team members for their wonderful teamwork and particularly PSA Advisor M.Irfan Shafiq who had done a great job at the pre-event and post-event media coverage, marketing and design. Certificates of participation were presented to all players and match officials by distinguished guests.
