A 16-year-old in Kuwait has good reason to wait for the postman. A letter has been sent to her by Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanking her for raising funds to help those devastated by the recent floods in Jammu and Kashmir, which left thousands of people homeless.
Duvvuri Rohini Pratyusha is a Class 12 student of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan school in Kuwait. She collected Rs. 2.15 lakh by "reaching out to Indian families after school hours and handed over the money to the Embassy of India in Kuwait to be sent to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund", according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office.
Mr Modi in his note thanked her "leadership, organizational abilities and concern for the victims of the flood."
