PICE marks 1st anniversary in Kuwait

The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers in Kuwait marked its first anniversary with the induction of a new set of officers for year 2015-2016. Philippines Embassy Charges D’ Affaires Atty. Raul Dado and Labor Attaché Atty. Cesar Chavez and their spouses graced the said occasion.

The event opened with the singing of the Philippine national Anthem followed by fellowship prayers led by Engr. Edward Pecina and Engr. Yusoph Capal. Engr. Roberto Valenzuela delivered a brief history of PICE and welcome remarks from the President Engr. Brian Bachinilla. Philippine Charges D’Affaires Atty. Raul Dado and Labor Attaché Atty. Cesar Chavez each gave personal messages lauding PICE for its active role in community service and support of the embassy and labor sector.

“I have personally attended your activities and have witnessed the love and commitment with which you approached the world, always striving to see the light in every challenge and solutions to every adversity,” said Atty. Dado.  To add, Labor Attaché Atty. Chavez said, “The Philippine Overseas Labor Office will always be here to provide your organization with support and assistance you may need to attain your goals. As valuable partners, we shall work together hard to offer the best programs and projects geared towards development, career advancement and professional excellence to our civil engineers”. Pastor Gil Bantugan, guest speaker also delivered a brief message reminding the group of the importance of financial literacy for better future for everyone. 

Plaques of recognition were awarded to the new set of officers, speakers and GMA 7 News Correspondent Ricky Laxa. The highlight of the night was the induction of the new set of officers by Atty Dado. Entertainment was provided for by a band Selda 5C2, guest singers also graced the occasion. Dinner immediately followed.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and Members of PICE Kuwait Chapter, International Chapter 1-10, we are glad and proud to celebrate our first year and we thank all our sponsors who made the event remarkable,” stated President Bachinilla. Sponsors of the event included: Majed Sajed Ibrahim, Badar Al-Harbi and sons, AJWAA Travels, TBTK , Open Kitchen and others.
