The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) Chairman Musaed Al-Asousi has boasted his agency's winning of the Integrated Distributed Geographical Information (IDGI) Systems award of 2015 for producing the "Kuwait Finder" application. In a press statement, Al-Asousi said that the PACI was named the winner of the excellence award in the use of IDGI systems by an international jury during the GISWORX 2015, which was recently held in Dubai.
He described the award as one of the most prestigious in this domain in the Middle East and North Africa region. Al-Asousi noted that the "Kuwait Finder" app is used by 450,000 smartphone users. "Kuwait Finder" application was developed by the PACI to serve users who search for destinations using building's computer number, area name, block number, street name or house number.
It allows quick search, through Geographic Information System (GIS), through shortcuts that represent different categories of various entities such as shopping centers, schools, or other activities and crafts. It also provides routing function between two points along with the directions.
