Ooredoo in Kuwait announced on 28 May its support for the Kuwait Blind Association by purchasing a Braillo 300 printer, which will be at the disposal of the association. The printer will be used for printing educational and entertainment material in Braille for the members of the association.
Speaking at a press conference held at the new Ooredoo headquarters in Kuwait City, General Manager and CEO Eng. Abdulaziz Fakhroo said: "This initiative stems from the belief of Ooredoo as a community-based company in fulfilling the wants of its clients. We believe in enriching the community and helping it thrive."

Head of communications, brand and customer experience Riham Al-Ayyar said: “We are happy to work with the Kuwait Blind Association today. One of our main aims at Ooredoo in Kuwait is to support underserved communities. Throughout the years, we saw many individuals in Kuwait who lost their sight but were blessed with brilliant minds. We’re very happy to be giving them support now.”
Fayez Lafi Al-Azmi from the Kuwait Blind Association thanked Ooredoo in Kuwait for their support, saying: “It is such a breath of fresh air to see that corporates in Kuwait are giving back to the community in such a generous way. We are certain that the new reading material which we will be able to provide will open new horizon for our members.”Al-Azmi added that getting reading material in the past used to be very time-consuming but will be much easier now that the association owns its own printing machine.

Aside from its local initiatives in each country where it operates, Ooredoo Group has a number of ongoing international partnerships including its relationship with the Leo Messi Foundation, which has seen the company bring mobile health clinics to towns and villages in Indonesia. Ooredoo global brand ambassador and football hero Lionel ‘Leo’ Messi will be featured in the advertising campaign for the launch with the headline: ‘Your world just got better’.

Ooredoo Group has officially announced the rebrand on 25 February 2013 at the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona, Spain. The new brand, since then, is being adopted by Ooredoo companies across its footprint, and has received international recognition with a series of awards at major global events. The company was recently named “Best Mobile Operator” at the World Communication Awards.

Ooredoo is a leading international communications company delivering mobile, fixed, broadband internet, and corporate managed services tailored to the needs of consumers and businesses across markets in the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Asia. It has a customer base of 95 million and reported revenues of US$ 33.9 billion in 2013.
