The Kuwaiti housing authorities are no longer delivering built houses to eligible citizens. The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW)'s strategy is now different; whereby it has adopted the distribution of residential units with a construction loan from the Credit Bank of Kuwait," said Dr. Jenan Boushehri, the Minister of State for Housing Affairs and Minister of State for Services.

The minister, speaking during today's parliamentary session, said the PAHW new strategy will "provide the full opportunity for the citizen to build his house according to his needs." She affirmed financial sustainability of the credit bank, although 12,000 residential units have been currently distributed. Increasing renovation loans may be examined for relieving nationals of financial burdens, she added.
