Persons convicted of national unity crimes, money laundering, state security, use of explosives and armed robbery are not eligible for the Amiri Pardon this year, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting the Public Prosecution sources.
On the other hand, the same sources said the Prosecution was informed the Central Prison that according to the new law all those convicts who have reached the age of 16 will be considered adults.
The law overwrites the earlier law which considered those 18 years and above as adults. The source added, a 17-year-old has been referred to the Central Prison while a 15-year-old to the Juvenile prison.
