Number of victims of an earthquake in Indonesia has risen to 1,300

The World has witnessed natural disasters that killed numerous people and injured many others in 2018. Following are major natural disasters throughout the year.

Jan. 13: Twenty people were killed in mudslides in Santa Barbara County in US State of California.

Jan. 22: Brazil's Minas Gerais State announced a state of emergency following the spread of Yellow Fever.

Jan. 27: Thirty­seven children were killed and 12,000 people were hospitalized due to Swine Flu in the US, the worst since 2009.

Feb. 7: Ten people were killed and 200 injured in a 6.4­degree earthquake that hit Taiwan.

March 2: At least 55 people were killed in harsh winter conditions in many European countries.

May 3: More than 100 people were killed by dust storms that hit the northern Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

May 25: Two people died as Cyclone Mekunu hits southern Oman.

June 6: The Fuego volcano in Guatemala explodes leaving at 27 people dead.

June 18: A powerful earthquake strikes Osaka Prefecture in Japan, killing at threat three people and injuring over 200 others.

July 8: Flooding and landslides kill at least 60 people in in western areas of Japan.

July 24: Unprecedented heatwave kills 65 people in Japan.

Aug: 6: A devastating earthquake jolts the Indonesian island of Lombok killing at least 100 people and causing the evacuation of thousands others.

Aug. 26: A strong 6.0­magnitude earthquake strikes western Iran, killing two people and injuring more than 250 others.

Sept. 5: Typhoon Jebi hits the western Japanese city of Osaka leaving 10 fatalities.

Sept. 15: Super Typhoon Mangkhut slams into the Philippines causing death of at least 59 people.

Sept. 15: Hurricane Florence lashes eastern coast of the US killing at least four people and injuring dozens others.

Sept. 18: Over 100 people perish in floods in Nigeria. Sept. 24: Deluge kills four people in northern Tunisia.

Sept. 28: Powerful earthquake jolts Indonesian island of Sulawesi, killing 400 people and wounding scores others.

Oct. 2: Number of victims of an earthquake in Indonesia has risen to 1,300.

Oct. 10: Sixteen people were killed and thousands were displaced in hurricane Michael that struck US State of Florida.

Oct 15: Thirteen people were killed in floods in southern France.

Oct 18: Five people were killed and others were missing in floods in several Tunisian areas.

Oct 26: Floods that hit Jordan killed 21 people and injured 35 others.

Oct. 30: Fifteen people were killed in landslide and floods in Philippines.

Nov. 10: Eleven people were killed and scores were missing in devastating forest fire in north and south of US State of California.

Nov. 10: At least 10 people were killed in floods caused by heavy rain in Jordan.

Nov. 11: More than 200 people died as a result of spread of Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Nov. 23: Seven people were killed and thousands were displaced in floods that hit Iraqi's northern district of Salahuddin.
