Namaste India Season 2 is a booming success

The 2nd edition of the fun fair ‘Namaste India’ was held at ICSK, Khaitan Campus on Friday, 21 December to highlight the rich Indian culture and traditions with an emphasis on ‘Charity Sans Frontières’.

Bikers from various bike clubs in Kuwait namely Kuwait Royal Enfield, Kuwait Bikers, Ride and Race Garage and Spartans kick started the festival with a scintillating bike show. Guests were welcomed by the Principal Gangadhar Shirsath, who dressed in traditional Punjabi attire. In his welcome address, he elaborated on the nobility of this special Indian Mela, Namaste India-Season 2. Visitors were also welcomed by students who were in traditional dresses representing various traditions and cultures of all Indian states and Union Territories class wise.

Ranveer Bharti, 2nd Secretary, Community Affairs, Indian Embassy, Kuwait was the Chief Guest of the day. He appreciated the zeal and spirit of the participants, and lauded the underlying noble cause of caring and giving through this function. This occasion was graced by the presence of Hon. Members of the Board of Trustees - ICSK, Chairman, Sheik Abdul Rahiman, Secretary, Mr. Azharuddin Amer Mohammed, Vice Chairman, Mr. Vinukumar Nair, Joint Secretary, Mr. Agnello Fernandes and Treasurer Mr. S N Raju, with Mr. Rajesh Nair, Principal, Amman Branch, Mrs. Sherly Dennis, Principal, Junior Branch.  

After seeking blessings through prayers and an invocation dance, guests were welcomed by the 'Battle of Bands' presented by the Students of ICSK, Khaitan, who captivated the audience by their talent of singing and playing musical instruments.

Star attractions of the event was the presence of famous actress of Malayalam movies, Gauthami Nair, who also happens to be a proud Alumni of ICSK, Khaitan.  Mr. Mubarak, the famous Kuwaiti singer, known as 'The Kishore Kumar of Kuwait', made the audience nostalgic with his rendition of old and very popular Hindi songs.

School campus was draped in vibrant colours, and was buzzing with many activities, such as Horse Riding, Mini Bazar, Magic Show, Lazer DJ, Cake Bazar, Kid’s arcade, etc. The event also turned out to a gastronomical treat as variety of Indian food cuisines were available from all the states of India in various food stalls. There were also a variety of games, raffle draw, couple show, Baby Show and Photo Contest that captivated the visitors. 

The Bhangra dance performed by BEAS Cultural Society was an enchanting sight.  There was also the high Octane Cinematic Dance competition and Folk Dance Competition, among Indian associations, dance school and Indian Schools. The Best Dance was won by Rajasthani Dance in Association Category, by ICSK Senior in School Category and by ‘Taal’ in Dance School category respectively. The Samanwaya Band created a mesmerizing musical atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Ms Gauthami shared her nostalgic moments and memories associated with the school and inspired the audience with her emotions for school and achievements. Mr Agnello Fernandes, Jt Secretary to the ICSK Board expressed the commitment of management towards the development of ICSK in his speech and appreciated the motto and efforts in organizing such a successful event of Namaste India.

Reiterating the difference of Namaste India from other School Carnivals, Vice Principal Mr. Ravi Ayanoli, expressed deep gratitude to everyone for their unconditional and tireless support towards making Namaste India-Season 2, a huge success.

He made a special mention about the strong support from magnanimous sponsors like Unimoni, Kapico, Jazeera, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Doha Bank, etc. The event left ultimately the most indelible impressions on the minds of the people with joy and happiness.
