The Next Autumn 16 collection for women is one of texture, colour and sophistication. The new collection shows a shift to the darker side of beauty.  Femininity is still very key, yet there is a real sense of nostalgia and gothic glamour throughout the range.

Tailoring was heavily featured on the catwalk this season with the ‘Prince of Wales’ check making a comeback along with houndstooth, plaid, tartan and gingham. The style can be seen throughout the collection in standout pieces including the check boxy jacket and tartan wrap skirt.

This season will see a return of seventies inspired fashion that is reflected throughout the Bloomsbury story from fluted sleeve dresses, bold floral wide leg trousers and skinny ribbed sweaters.

The collection reveals a taste for the darker hues of nostalgia with frilled bibbed dresses, plush velvet, blurred floral trousers and lace tops.

Bomber jackets continue to be the outerwear trend of choice this season.  Whether it be silk, velvet or quilted, it is the must have piece this winter.  Team with coated skinnies and pleated skirts for the ultimate sports luxe vibe.

Next menswear
The new season at NEXT combines modern, forward thinking styles with traditional, hand- crafted looks, blending the past echoes of the future.

Menswear this season has a real autumnal colour palette.  Earthy neutrals, shades of grey and utility greens are paired with smoked rosin reds and toffee tones.

Casualwear has a strong military utilitarian influence for the season. The fatigue pant is still a key style following on from spring, but given a fresh look in authentic reverse club fabrics.  Flannel shirts in neppy yarns and the return of the four pocket jacket in technical and heavier weight fabrics complete the look.  Knitwear sees an abundance of multi-dimensional textures ranging from fine gauge to chunky, laid back styles.  These are worn with aged, authentic look denims.

Next childrens wear

This season, gorgeous moody florals and 70s inspired pieces dominate older girls story Journal.  The perfect transitional trend in a rich palette of navy, spicy ginger and peachy pink help carry this story from summer to autumn.  Denim pieces are practical yet pretty, while sparkling metallics add an element of enchantment.

Alexander Place adds a traditional heritage story for the younger girls, featuring classic wool coats, Peter Pan collars and pretty floral prints.

For the essential everyday pieces Winterbourne is the perfect addition to a little girl’s wardrobe.  Jackets and outerwear in abstract florals help keep practical pieces girly, whilst boho inspired playsuits create a laid back chilled look.

Boy’s take a trip back to the 90s with Retro Sport.  Taking inspiration from the mod days, skinny tipped polos and Harrington jackets are paired with washed denims to bring this look together.

Virtual Hype is a sports collection with a modern twist.  Inspired by computer games this trend is bound to be a hit with the boys.
