The Ministry of Interior has stepped up security along the maritime border following confidential reports about attempts by terrorists to infiltrate into the country by sea, reports Al- Shahed daily. The daily quoting senior Coast Guard officials said the patrol boats armed with sophisticated weaponry and state-of-the-art radar system are monitoring suspect activity along Kuwait’s maritime borders.
According to reliable sources the State Security has received information that members of terrorist organizations are attempting to infiltrate into the country during this holy month of Ramadan. The same sources said the Coast Guard has pressed into service boats with great combat ability to protect Kuwait’s maritime border round the clock and that orders have been given to shoot on sight any suspects if they fail to respond to orders.
The sources disclosed a special operations room has been set up to follow the situation and that there is cooperation between the Coast Guard and all other security agencies.
