MoE to expedite hiring of new teachers to cover ‘shortages’

General Oversight Team to receive new teachers

The Ministry of Education is working hard to expedite the recruitment of new teachers to cover the shortage of teaching staff in various educational districts as part of cooling down the heated academic year characterized by many faults and shortages, reports Al- Rai daily.

Undersecretary Dr Haitham Al- Athari has formed several working teams to follow up administrative procedures with Kuwaiti embassies in Tunisia, Jordan and Palestine; as well as the ministries of Health and Interior and other relevant bodies to receive the new teachers.

Al-Athari appointed Human Resources Department Superintendent Abeer Al-Jebri as head of the first team which has nine members. The team has been tasked to follow up procedures with the embassies and complete communications related with Kuwaiti embassies in Tunisia, Jordan and Palestine; in addition to following up procedures with the ministries of Health and Interior.

The undersecretary instructed the General Oversight Team to receive the new teachers under the leadership of Director for General Services in the Education Ministry Fahad Al-Hayyan who works with nine members.

The third team is in charge of ensuring that the new teachers are provided with accommodation and transportation, in addition to completing legal and immigration procedures. The Hospitality and Welcoming Team is headed by Public Relations Director Dhidaan Al-Ajmi and it consists of nine members who will oversee hospitality services and nourishment.

The team leaders are expected to submit periodic reports in the next three months. Al-Athari also appointed Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Facilities and Planning Yassin Al-Yassin as head of the team in charge of technical follow up to execute the ministry’s projects for fiscal 2018/2019 of the development plan. Al-Yassin succeeds the retired assistant undersecretary – Khaled Al-Rashid.
