Complying with building and real estate laws and contracts is important for the protection of the companies and beneficiaries' rights, a senior official at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said Monday.

The MoCI is working on a number of relevant laws and regulations to be passed and applied within the next coming months, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Fawaz Al-Shallal said.

Al-Shallal made his remarks to reporters Monday after inaugurating the Kuwait and International Real Estate Ramadan Exhibition, reiterating his ministry's responsibility in making laws that protect consumers' interests and properties, and preserve the market in general.

"We always look forward to enhancing services and preserving the highest level of quality," he said, adding that the ministry is so keen on preserving companies and consumers' interest and leisure.

Meanwhile, Al-Shallal indicated that the participating companies in this year's expo are of high reputation and quality level, adding that their products are highly-advanced from their investments in Turkey, Bosnia, and a number of European countries.

He also noted that no contracts are to be signed during the event, noting that such exhibitions are organized to promote real estate products and investment opportunities.
