Kuwait Municipality has allocated Block Seven in Mishref, which measures one million square meters with 68 plots, to be transformed into the embassies zone, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting sources.
Sources confirmed the decision has been approved by the Ministers Council and submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Sources said this step was taken after receiving many complaints on the spread of embassies in residential areas. In other news, Ministry of Justice has approved relocation of the proposed site for construction of the Administrative Court and Stock Market Court at Grenada Area based on recommendation from Kuwait Municipality in order to allow smooth completion of improvement of Jamal Abdulnasser Road, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a letter from the Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al- Sane to the Minister of Communications and State Minister for Municipal Affairs Essa Al-Kanderi, Kuwait Municipality had notified Al- Sane in a letter dated January 4 that the proposed site for construction of the courts will affect the ongoing Jamal Abdulnasser Road project at Grenada Area- Block 3.
Al-Sane agreed to the proposed relocation of the courts’ site provided the same area size of 11,390 square meters is provided, reminding Al- Kandari that the space was approved by the Municipal Council, which has to be maintained for the public good.
