Minister Al-Saleh: one billion government expenditure saved in 2016-2017
September 26, 2017, 10:29 pm

Despite challenges facing Kuwaiti economy, over KD one billion (around US$ 3.27 billion) was saved in government expenditure between 2016 and 2017, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Anas Al-Saleh said Tuesday.

Speaking at the opening of the 9th round of 'Euromoney Kuwait 2017', Al-Saleh noted that the government began its 'New Kuwait' economic and financial reform to diversify the country's non-oil revenues to help support Kuwait's vision 2035.

He indicated that since the sharp decline in oil prices, various government bodies began to implement measures to ease the effects of the decrease.

So far, the plans seem to be going on course, said the minister. The one-day Euromoney conference according to the reform package, brings together those concerned from the government, local and international financial sectors to discuss the mechanisms and policies of implementing this plan successfully and their possible impact on Kuwait and abroad.
