Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning and Development Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh on Tuesday called for setting up an effective partnership between both private and public sectors to alleviate the rate of unemployment.
Addressing the 41st session of Arab Labor Conference (ALC) being held in Cairo, Al-Sabeeh on Tuesday stressed the necessity of establishing a fund for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Arab world.
"The fund will be an important step that could support youths and help them find jobs," she said. "The ALC meeting comes amid extreme difficult circumstances in the Arab region," she added, noting that such circumstances cause big challenges in the region representing in creating jobs for youth and curbing the rate of unemployment.
She pointed out that the report of the Director General of the Arab Labor Organization focused on many aspects that the ALC could adopt to address the problems of joblessness and provide sustainable jobs.
"This move will benefit from capabilities of Arab people in different sectors," she said. The resolutions of Arab Economic Summits of Kuwait 2009, Sharm El-Sheikh 2011 and Riyadh 2013 are focusing on tackling all issues through establishing principles of joint cooperation, she added.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries made steps to enhance Arab integration by recruiting Arab workers or by holding bilateral investment, she said.
