There have been some irregularities concerning Masters' Degree scholarships given to students at an educational institution, and "the issue has been referred to the judiciary", Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Bader Al-Essa said on Wednesday.
Al-Essa made the statement in response to a question by an MP in Wednesday's parliamentary session, pertaining to "Masters' Degree scholarships given to ineligible students at the Institute of Public Authority for Applied Education and Training."
"The issue is currently being investigated and will be sorted out in due time," Al-Essa said. "Since the issue has been referred to the judiciary, we have no right to discuss or investigate it," he added.
Meanwhile, also in Wednesday's session, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim ordered the session's audience to leave, after calling for a closed-door meeting to discuss regional developments.
