Bring out the aspiring chef within you and display your culinary delights to the world around. Yes, encouraged by the overwhelmingly popular Food Competition held in 2014, Maurya Kala Parisar Kuwait is organizing again ‘Ethnic Food Competition’. The objective of the event is to bring forth specialties from eastern region of India namely from the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Odisha, Chattisgarh and Asam. The ‘Poorab Ke Pakwan’ is international too. Dishes from Nepal, Mauritius, Surinam, West Indies, Bangla Desh and Fiji are not far in taste and culture.
The competition will be part of ‘Ethnic Food Festival’ for people to appreciate and enjoy.
Entries for the food competition is open to all and grouped under the following categories-
1. Vegetarian dishes; 2. Non-vegetarian dishes; and 3. Desserts
Celebrity and renowned chefs from Kuwait’s leading hotel/restaurants will judge prepared food brought over for the competition under various criteria like taste, presentation, ethnicity etc. There are a host of attractive prizes to be won.
Basic rules for the food competition are as under:
1. Participants will bring prepared dish for competition. It’s not on-spot cooking event.
2. The dish shall be exclusive to the eastern region of India
3. There is no limitation on the number of entries from an individual participant
4. Quantity of food brought for each entry shall be enough for tasting by 5 judges
5. Basic food ingredients and recipe shall be disclosed
6. Competition is open to all staying in Kuwait
7. There is no entry fee.

Maurya Kala Parisar (MKP), fondly known as Maurya, is the association of people of Bihar and Jharkhand in Kuwait. One of the most active and socially meaningful Indian organizations in Kuwait MKP was formed in the year 1995. The association registered with Indian Embassy in Kuwait is dedicated to promotion of arts, culture and social service among Indian community in Kuwait. The organization gets its name from the great Maurya dynasty of Patliputra of ancient India, which had kings like Ashok and Chandragupt.
