Marriott Hotels in Kuwait have participated in HORECA Kuwait 2016 for food and hospitality industries for the fifth year in a row. The exhibition took place on 18-20 January, 2016 under the patronage of the Minister of Information and the Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Homoud Al-Sabah.
A huge number of chefs from different hotels and restaurants in Kuwait competed in a series of live culinary shows which were judged by a panel of international chefs from the Middle East and Europe.
JW Marriott Kuwait City and Courtyard by Marriott Kuwait participated in the bread display, ice carving, chocolate showpieces, food presentation art shows and pastry productions, and were awarded a collection of recognitions, including three gold medals in the Live Ice Carving and Live Fruit & Vegetables Carving categories, one silver in the Meat Dish Competition, two bronze in the Cold Canapés and Chocolate Showpiece competitions, and five Merit Certificates in the bread creation, Single Tier Novelty Cake, Three Tier Decorated Wedding Cake and Three Plated Dessert presentations. The Marriott Kuwait Team was led by Pradeep Kurup, the Pastry Chef at JW Marriott Kuwait City and Chef Chaminda Anura from Courtyard by Marriott Kuwait.
Commenting about their participation in the exhibition, George Aoun, Cluster General Manager of Marriott Hotels in Kuwait said: “HORECA Exhibition is considered one of the most important food and hospitality events in the region that is why we participate every year.”
