The Manpower Public Authority director Jamal Al-Doussary stressed that it was not acceptable to delay looking into labor claims for months. He also pointed out that the authority’s PR department had formed a special committee to inspect investigators’ work and make sure all grievances were duly attended to.

He also noted that his deputy for manpower affairs, Badriya Al-Mukaimi, had formed a committee to follow up complaint investigators’ work. “The committee is authorized to use gradual penalties against underachievers starting with notices and ending with suspension,” Doussary concluded.

Zour contract signing extended Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) stressed that in response to requests made by four out of the five bidding consortiums, the signing of the Al-Zour refinery contracts would be delayed four months.

KNPC added that evaluation would take around two and a half months before declaring the winning consortiums. Notably, the contracts are expected to be signed by March 2015 as applications for the tender would be closed on Jan 13, 2015.
