Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of the biggest jewelry retailers in the region, celebrated International Nurses Day in association with Chest Diseases Hospital on 13 May at the Chest Diseases Hospital. International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world on every 12 May, which is the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth.

Nursing is a profession within the healthcare sector focused on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life. Nurses may be differentiated from other healthcare providers by their approach to patient care, training, and scope of practice.

Malabar Gold & Diamonds undertook the initiative to celebrate the International Nurses Day as a token of appreciation to the Nurses for their selfless contributions. Commenting on the celebration, Afsal Khan – Zonal Head, Malabar Gold & Diamonds said, “Malabar Gold & Diamonds are glad to associate with Chest Diseases Hospital to celebrate the International Nurses Day and we thank the management and officials for the whole hearted support.”

Malabar Gold & Diamonds has honored 15 senior officials of the Chest Diseases Hospital by presenting them a memento as a token of appreciation for their service. A cake cutting ceremony along with some fun games was arranged as a part of the event.

“We thank Malabar Gold and Diamonds for their gesture towards us and also for celebrating ‘International Nurses Day’ with us. It was indeed a new experience for all of us here,” said Sadeq Abdul Hadi Al Feeli, Nursing Director, Chest Diseases Hospital, during the event. The event also marked the importance of ‘World Hygiene Day’, which falls on 5 May. The day is declared by the ‘World Health Organization’ and encourages patients and their family members to join health workers in their efforts to practice good hand hygiene.
