The Civil Defence in the Saudi capital Riyadh have rescued an Asian domestic helper from an apparent attempt to jump to her death. The helper reportedly sneaked out of the room window on the sixth floor of a building in Al Midhar Residential Complex and stood on an air conditioning unit, threatening to jump to the ground.
A Civil Defence team was dispatched to the area and a negotiator talked with the woman to convince her to return to the building. He eventually persuaded her not to jump and helped her back to safety. The woman was unhurt, Saudi news site Sabq reported on Wednesday. Police have launched an investigation into the case. The helper had been working with a Syrian family in Riyadh.
