Mahendra Singh Dhoni retires as India Test captain
December 30, 2014, 1:25 pm

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has retired from Test cricket citing the strain of playing in all formats. Dhoni quit with immediate effect following the third Test draw and resulting series defeat against Australia. He will concentrate on his role as leader of the India One Day International and Twenty20 teams.

The BCCI thanked him for his enormous contribution. Virat Kohli will captain India for the fourth and final Test against Australia to be played in Sydney from January 6.
