MPs Omar Al-Tabtabaei and Abdulwahab Al-Babtain on Monday filed a motion requesting interpellation of Minister of Oil, Electricity and Water Bakhit Al-Rashidi, over alleged mismanagement.

The lawmakers are interpolating the minister over alleged "failure in accomplishing the clean energy project, engaging in non-feasible ventures and taking contradictory strategic decisions of high costs for the public funds."

They are also accusing him of being complacent and slack in reclaiming badly spent public funds, failing to operate the Vietnam refinery, wasting public funds on training leaders without necessity, paying expatriates 10 times worth of end service funds, as compared to those paid to Kuwaitis.
