The Ministry of Public Works postponed until next week the announcement of the winning bid for the reconstruction of Imam Al- Sadiq Mosque which was bombed during Ramadan, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting sources. Sources clarified the decision was taken for the concerned body to have more time to evaluate the offers, revealing eight companies have expressed their readiness to participate in the implementation of the project.
However, only five companies have presented their offers to the Maintenance Engineering Sector which is responsible for the maintenance of governmental buildings, sources said. In compliance with the instructions of Minister Ahmad Al-Jassar and Undersecretary Awatef Al-Ghuneim, the sector took the necessary steps to expedite procedures for the reconstruction of the mosque as per the wish of H.H. the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
