MES, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, IDF and IDAK jointly hold a medical camp

Hundreds of disadvantaged people including those from labor camps in various parts of Kuwait attended the free medical screening camp organized by Muslim Educational Society (MES) and Malabar Gold & Diamonds in association with Indian Doctor’s Forum (IDF),  Indian Dentists' Alliance in Kuwait (IDAK), Kuwait Heart Foundation and Kuwait Medical Association on Friday, 10 March at Pakistan Excel English School, Abbasiya.  Malabar Gold & Diamonds was the main sponsor of the event along with Badr Al Samaa Medical Center and Aster Pharmacy. The camp was inaugurated by Ambassador of India to Kuwait H.E. Sunil Jain.

The theme of this year’s medical camp was ‘Care & Aware’ and a booklet based on the topic was released by the Indian Ambassador and the first copy was handed to Afsal Khan – Regional Manager, Malabar Gold & Diamonds.

Experts from various medical specialties including Orthopaedics, ENT, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Diabetes, Cardiology, General Medicine, Pediatrics, Dermatology and Dental examined the patients.  In addition, many patients utilized the services of ECG, Mammography and other screening tests.

The dedication and hard work shown by the MES volunteers helped the participants to avail of camp facilities easily. A large quantity of medicines sponsored by Saudi Pharmaceutical Company, Al Hajeri Group, Bader Sultan and Aster Pharmacy was distributed under the supervision of Medical wing convener Nasaruddeen. Hundreds of patients from various nationalities including India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Pakistan, Nepal and others from different walks of life benefited from this noble event.

MES conducts medical camps every year and this year was the 16th camp organized for the community. IDF arranged for more than 50 doctors, which is the largest contingent till date for such a camp, covering almost all specialties. Around 40 skilled para-medical staff assisted the doctors for the preliminary check-ups.

The public took advantage of blood sugar tests in addition to the blood cholesterol tests sponsored by Kuwait Heart Foundation.

The brief inaugural ceremony started with a recitation of versus from the Holy Qura’an.  MES President Sadiq Ali welcomed the audience while Medical Wing Convenor Nasaruddeen proposed the vote of thanks.  The felicitations for the camp were given by Dr. Abey Patwar – President IDF, Dr. Sayed Rahman – IDF, Dr. Prathap Unnithan – IDAK, Dr. Ameer Ahamed (former President – IDF), Ashraf Ayyur – Badr Al Samaa Medical Center, Shanmukha Sundaran – Aster Pharmacy.

MES General Secretary Arshad, former president Mohamed Rafi, Treasurer Dr Mustafa Keyi, Khaleel Adoor, SalehBatha, Zubair MM, Ibrahim, Ashraf PT, Shaheer, O.J. Usman, Advt. Gafoor, Mujeeb, Noufal, RameesSaleh, RayeesSaleh, Firoz and Neslin actively coordinated this unique program.
