M.A. Yusuff Ali, the Managing Director of Abu Dhabi-headquartered EMKE LuLu Group of companies that owns the Lulu Hypermarket chain in Middle East, is number 24 on the Forbes India's Richest List 2015 with a net worth of $3.7 billion. The Gulf-based retailer made a splash in July with the $170 million purchase of the iconic Scotland Yard building in London, which he plans to convert into a luxury hotel.
He is also expanding his $6.5 billion (revenues) LuLu Group retailing empire of 119 hypermarkets, supermarkets and grocery outlets, and a dozen malls, with new stores in Africa, Southeast Asia and India. Lulu's food and beverage arm has the Indian franchises for American ice- cream parlor chain Cold Stone Creamery and for Famous Dave's barbecue restaurants.
