Lopez bags grand prize of Marina FM Pinoy Arabia ‘Sing-Galing’ competition

Mark Lopez, a Filipino therapist won the grand prize of Pinoy Arabia Marina FM ‘Sing-Galing’ singing competition held at the Live Theater of Discovery Mall on Friday afternoon. The two-month auditions ended with thirty grand finalists qualified to vie for the title ‘Sing-Galing’. The event was graced with the presence of Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Renato Villa and other embassy officials. Philippines Labor Attaché Atty. Cesar Chavez also came to grace the said occasion.

The one of a kind singing competition commenced with the singing of the Philippines and Kuwait National Anthems followed by a brief silent prayer and speech by the Philippine Envoy Villa. In his brief remarks, he praised the radio program for taking the initiative to organize such a competition with talented Filipinos in mind. “I thank everyone for making this event possible and for those who made it this far of the competition, May the best singer win,” said Villa.

The speech was immediately followed succession of singers namely: Flora Mae Esguerra, Felipe barbio, Luz Cortez, Marchie Roxas, Rye Quiroz Pujante, Jonard Capiones, Ariel Estrada, Monawara Zacaria, Roy Rutagines,  Daniel Macaraeg, Maribel Jacobo,  Mark Clemente Salmo,  Dennis Alvaez,  Maroel Guarin,  Giordani Rossel,  Erwin Monge, Jhane Garcia, Myerson Red Persingcula, Mark Lopez, Carlo Dela Rosa Delfinado, Edrick Rio, Arcie Suyu, Jayson Santiago,  Charles Vincent Molaco, Alma Villegas, Beljore Jude Camello, Felda Basnillo,  Jonah Marie Alcotibo, Arthur Ganiron and  Lowella Jeroy.

The full house theater left many standing by the isles and open areas of the venue with each group cheering for their favorite contestants. The performers also delivered remarkable vocal renditions and well picked musical pieces. The winners were Mark Lopez - Grand Prize, Erwin Monge - Second Prize and Arcie Suyu and Maroel Guarin - Third prize, People's Choice Award - Myerson Red Persingcula. Judges of the competition were: Grand Prize winner and artist Jennifer Uy, Actress Ms. Carly Stark, Philippine Vice Consul Shiena Tesorero, Cultural Attaché Maria Alethea Rana Nabo, Tenor and Lead role actor of various Broadway musicals in Kuwait Jumel Carvajal,  Local actor and comedian Hassan Rawas and Recording artist and vocal coach Ricky Laxa.

Pinoy Arabia Marian FM wishes to thank Dr. S.M Hyder Ali - Chairman TVS Hyder  Group, Rashid Khan - Finance Manager TVS Hyder Group, Daisy J. Vocal renditions by noted singers Katrina Perea, Jennifer Uy, Jummel Carvajal and young Diva Najwa Lacson received resounding applause. The show is currently planning on its next competition scheduled for February 2016.
