Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower Ahmad Al- Mousa has indicated that a new batch of bogus companies that are involved in visa trading will soon be published in the media, reports Al Jarida daily.
Al-Mousa said the procedure serves as a punishment by the authority against those companies in line with Article 138 of the private sector Labor Law 6/2010, indicating that the law stipulates a maximum of threeyear jail term or fine of minimum KD 1,000 and maximum KD 5,000 fine or both. He clarified that publishing the names of those companies that have been suspended permanently under Code 71 is aimed to inform the workers under the sponsorship of those companies the situation.
Al-Mousa affirmed that this move will help the workers to benefit from the ongoing grace period that will end in early August, revealing that 455 workers have so far transferred their sponsorship during the grace period. He indicated that 33,000 workers registered under 6,770 licenses are supposed to benefit from the grace period.
