Legislative, Executive authorities must cooperate in issuing laws - MPs

Kuwaiti MPs stressed on the importance of cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities in issuing laws to develop infrastructure and boost the work of governmental bodies.

The remarks were made during the National Assembly's ordinary session on Wednesday, as MPs' discussed contents of the speech of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at the opening of the assembly's second ordinary session of the 15th legislative term on 24 October.

Calling on the government to fully execute the terms mentioned in the speech, the MPs affirmed the need to involve youth in vital projects and provide them with full support.

They also called for developing the healthcare sector, including building new hospitals and provide qualified medical staff. Meanwhile, they said that the oil sector must also be developed as Kuwait relies on it for income, adding that the government had still not set a plan to use a variety of income sources.

At the end of the session, National Assembly Speaker Marouq Al-Ghanim announced that Kuwait will host the GCC heads of parliaments conference on January 8.
