In its fifth year, Australia Unlimited MENA (AU MENA), the Australian Government’s annual promotional campaign in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, brings together a comprehensive program of events focusing on initiatives that link regional priorities with Australian capabilities. AU MENA aims at raising Australia’s profile in the region by highlighting Australian achievements and advancements that are relevant to market opportunities in trade, education, tourism and investment.
One of the core components of AU MENA 2017 will be on Health Research and Innovation, which will bring together Australian educational institutions and organisations to showcase Australian capabilities in the critical areas of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, shed light on the region’s healthcare needs and exciting research programs, which would ultimately foster bilateral collaboration and generate commercial opportunities for Australian institutions and innovators.
Government, academia and industry representatives will visit Kuwait from 16 – 19 March 2017 to discuss the current challenges around cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, explore programs and funding mechanisms, as well as the role the private sector and industry can play in driving and supporting the developments of new solutions to address these medical disorders. An essential component of this year’s AU MENA campaign is our consumer engagement activities around Australian food and tourism. Dairy Australia with Celebrity Chef Tim Hollands will participate in Taste of Q8 to showcase Australian dairy products.
Master Chef Tarek Ibrahim will also be representing Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA). “There is strong demand for Australian meat in Kuwait due to its high quality”, said Australian Counsellor Commercial Jack Hajjar. “Australia’s has a reputation as a clean, fresh and a reliable supplier of food. There is a genuine interest and respect for our products among consumers, retailers and distributors in Kuwait”, said Australian Ambassador Warren Hauck. During the same period, the Australian Government will also be supporting an investment delegation.
