LAF Kuwait celebrates World Health Day

Life Again Foundation (LAF) Kuwait, celebrated its second anniversary and World Health day, on 7 April at American International School Maidan Hawally.  The scintillating star-studded event was graced by  Ambassador of India to Kuwait H.E. Jeeva Sagar, patrons of LAF Kuwait  Dr. Hind Hamad Ahamad Al-Bahar, Malek Essa Ahamad Al- Ajeel, and LAF founder Gautami Thadimala along with Bollywood celebrities such as Shatrughan Sinha and Poonom Dillon.

The stars shone over the crowd brightly with their luminous motivational and meaningful words above their captivating presence. Chief advisor of LAF Kuwait Suresh K.P. Vice President Jayanthi Natarajan, General Secretary Neethu Singh along with other dignitaries adorned the stage.

During his welcome address, LAF Kuwait president Venket Koduri, welcomed the audience and introduced the organization to the public. In her founder’s address, Gautami elucidated the motivation and mission of Life Again Foundation, its activities and future plans.

LAF Kuwait strives to raise awareness about responsible health practices and screening for lifestyle diseases such as cancer. We have been conducting regular health and yoga camps through Kuwait that have benefited both the Kuwaiti as well as expatriates communities. It is delightful to note that LAF is now receiving amazing response and support from the people of Kuwait who have stepped forward with eager and enthusiastic participation.

She said that though Life again foundation was started following her victorious feat over cancer, now the organization is looking far beyond just addressing cancer.  Now LAF also attempts to address the basic needs to lead a successful or complete life which are Education and Health in general. She confided that after a lot of researching on the ground needs we have now a well-rounded model which can address the very severe gaps in our education system and health care.

Bollywood icon, Member of Parliament and former Minister of Health,  Shatrughan Sinha, said in his keynote speech that 70 percent of cancer is curable while that 30 percent which are not curable, are controllable with medicines and counseling. He stressed on the gravity of the threat called cancer especially oral cancer due to use of tobacco. The ravishing beauty Poonom Dillon talked about the importance of annual medical checkup and preventive vaccinations for cervical cancer in women which is unknown to many. 

The Event Souvenir release was led by the Indian Ambassador Sagar, Gautami , Shatrughan Sinha, and the other dignitaries supported by LAF Kuwait core team members including  Shiny Frank , Vijaya Nair,  Chinnu Korah, Nagehwara Rao and Pragya.

The program was filled with entertaining dance performances by dance schools in Kuwait such as Natya Veda School of Dance, Acharya Group of Dance and Dancing Divas. The even had a vivacious conclusion, with the popular south Indian cine playback singers N.C. Karunya and Saujanya Madabhushi, rocking the floor with their exceptionally mesmerizing musical performance which pierced into the hearts of the audience.
