Office of Attorney General of Pittsburgh announced that a Kuwaiti student of Pennsylvania University has been arrested for possessing videos of child pornography.
In an official statement, the office said the Kuwaiti student is scheduled to appear in a hearing session on April 26 to face that charge along with another related to the use of a mobile phone in violation of criminal laws.
Investigators, quoting local news cable, said they decided to arrest the Kuwaiti after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. They reported finding 20 video clips of child pornography in the ‘Dropbox’ online account used by the student in Kuwait and the United States of America.
During interrogations, the student confessed that he knows child pornography is illegal and that he had viewed the clips on his mobile device. However, he insisted that he is not fond of such pornography and that a person had sent the videos to him.
According to a press statement, no lawyers have so far been appointed for defending the student.
