Kuwait Disabled Sports Club (KDSC) announced on Wednesday that it would bestow upon its athlete Ahmad Al-Mutairi a monetary award of USD 30,000, after his victory in the wheelchair 100 meters- race of the Rio 2016 Paralympics.

The award is a token of appreciation for Al-Mutairi, who set an unprecedented Olympic record of 16 seconds, KDSC President Shafi Al-Hajeri said in a press statement.

Moreover, he added that KDSC will work with the Public Authority for Sport (PAS) to continue to motivate athletes as they look to amass exemplary accomplishments in future events.
