The 12th international dermatology conference is due to be held in Kuwait on November 19th, with a diverse schedule including courses and seminars, said the Secretary-General of the GCC Dermatology Association.
Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Fozan, also Director of the Arab Board of Skin Disease Specialists, told KUNA on Thursday that the three-day event will be co-organized by the GCC Dermatologists Association and Kuwait's Ministry of Health.
It will include seminars, workshops and courses tackling latest innovations and discoveries for treatment of various skin diseases, Dr. Fozan said, adding that participants will be educated about light therapy.
Light therapy is a highly effective outpatient treatment for many skin conditions, including psoriasis, vitiligo, scleroderma and other skin disorders. It works by slowing down cell growth and inflammation that causes skin problems to develop.
Dr. Fozan expressed gratitude to Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of Health Dr. Mohammad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and Health Undersecretary Dr. Khaled Al-Sehlawi for their continuous support and concern for medical training and education as well as upgrading doctors' skills, through the organization of such events.
The convention is expected to draw a group of elite doctors from the GCC States, Arab countries, the US and Europe.
