Kuwait will experience moderate rains with northwesterly winds within the next two days, affirming the validity of news on possible heavy rainfall and floods, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting Astronomer Dr. Saleh Al-Ojairi.
Al-Ojairi explained the unstable weather condition, along with rains and clouds, will continue for two days. He said temperatures are expected to drop in the last week of this month, signaling the beginning of winter.
The Interior Ministry issued a statement Tuesday warning road users, sea and desert goers of the current bad weather conditions experienced in Kuwait, and called on the public to use the 112 hotline in case of emergency.
The weekly statistical report issued by the General Traffic Department for the period starting from 1 to 7 November showed that 2,065 vehicles and 44 motorcycles were impounded due to various traffic violations. In a press statement, the department revealed 95 people were detained for committing traffic violations like jumping the red light, speeding and driving without a license.
Also, 10 expatriates were referred to the Deportation Center for driving without a license while the department dealt with 1,809 accidents.
The department then urged the public to strictly comply with traffic regulations and instructions along the roads to avoid legal problems.
